Dr. Beverly Neyland, FAAP
Chapter President

Dr. Neyland obtained an MD from Meharry Medical College, completed her internship at Long Beach Memorial Children's Hospital and residency at UCLA-Harbor General Hospital. She practiced pediatrics in Las Vegas for 20 years before joining the full-time faculty. She has served as Chief of Pediatrics at University Medical Center and Sunrise Hospital. Dr. Neyland is the President of the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is active nationally in the AAP, having served on the Membership and 75th Anniversary Committees. Dr. Neyland is Director of the Ambulatory Pediatrics Curriculum for the residency program and supervises residents at Kids Healthcare, UMC Pediatric Inpatient unit, Sunrise Children’s Hospital Nursery, and at UMC’s Lied Outpatient Pediatric Clinic, where she is director of the Reach Out and Read Program. Dr. Neyland received Honorable Mention recognition as one of 2006’s Top Doctors in Las Vegas Life Magazine.

Dr. David Gremse, FAAP, FACG
Interim Vice President

Dr. Gremse has served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics since 2004. He completed his undergraduate medical education and pediatric residency training at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He undertook a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati before returning to Alabama. While serving there as Director of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, he was promoted to Professor and became Interim Chair of Pediatrics for his last years there before moving to Las Vegas. He is a strong supporter of residency training and seeks to expand the learning opportunities for residents in Las Vegas.

Dr. Johanna Fricke, FAAP
Secretary/Treasurer

Dr. Fricke received her MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, where she completed her first two years of residency. She finished her residency training at the University of Texas in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Fricke practiced in Reno, Nevada, for 22 years both privately and for the Nevada State Health Division. Since 1986, she has practiced developmental and behavioral pediatrics. Dr. Fricke works in the ambulatory pediatric clinics. Her interests are children with a variety of behavioral and developmental difficulties. Dr. Fricke is board certified in Behavioral-Developmental Pediatrics. Dr. Fricke was named as one of America’s Top Pediatricians in 2005.
