About Us
Mission Statement
To better the lives of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults throughout the State of Nevada by improving child health through increased access to care; legislative and community advocacy; support of research; education of pediatric healthcare providers; and support of the Chapter's members.
Chapter Focus
The Nevada AAP Chapter is an organized group of pediatricians located across the state. Our mission is to be sure that Nevada's children are safe and healthy, and grow up to be productive citizens. In order to facilitate this goal, we recognize the increasing need for improved Access to Care and the importance of higher Immunization Rates.
We are choosing these as our immediate goals for 2008.

What's New
- State approval and 501c3 status (application submitted 3/11/08)
- The Nevada Chapter of the AAP has been revived with approval from the Nevada Legislature as of February 2007 with assistance from Dr. Johanna Fricke.
- We are currently in the process of updating older By-Laws to contemporary language and tailored for our goals as a Chapter. To assist with this project, please contact Dr. David Gremse
- A Strategic Planning Meeting was held in Nov 2006 with Dr. Ken Slaw and Betsey Siska from the AAP Chapter Relations Office, in order to create an action plan and guide our efforts. The meeting's main conclusions were that the most important issues facing us are 1) Improving Immunization Rates and 2) Improving children's Access to Care. We would also like to become a voice to advocate for both pediatricians and children in this state.
Funding
The NV Chapter of the AAP, Inc. conducts fundraising in NV primarily thru membership dues and AAP grant solicitations. (Section 4d of bylaws)
